Saturday, 12 September 2026 Reader It’s been interesting sitting in the hospital emergency room surrounded by strong, capable women doing good medicine for people in need while working on a novel about a strong, capable woman in 1796 who is being denied her dream to be a doctor. Grateful for how things have changed. Favor To Ask I have a favor to ask of my newsletter readers. My book Writer Wellness: A Writer’s Path to Health and Creativity WORKBOOK is listed as “out of stock” on Amazon’s website, but there are tons of them in stock with me and my publisher Headline Books, Inc. The OOS notice discourages potential buyers because they think they can’t get the book. Not true. Apparently the Amazon algorithm responds to page visits even if the visit doesn’t result in a sale. I have been informed that the more page visits that occur, Amazon will place an order to stock the books. So, if you would click on this Amazon page link once per day, three days in a row, I would be very grateful. What can I do for you in return? My Latest Blog Post If you’re a writer, reading my latest blog post about the value of literary agents in my experience may interest you. If you’re a reader, it’s a peek behind the scenes of the ocean of things a writer has to consider. If you have any experience with literary agents to share, hit “Reply” and your thoughts will come directly to my email box. Where In the World Is Joy? I had good intentions and a full calendar of book events for September, but another nasty bout of pneumonia put me down for the second time this year. I’m healing, in other words. Please send healing vibes😊Thank you. Guest Blogger Invitation Let’s have a guest blog from a reader this time. Not a book review, but something a reader wants to share with other readers and writers. Have a favorite genre or author you’d like to tell my followers about? Been to a reader event lately and want to share the experience? Something else? Email your idea and we’ll chat. Do you feature published books on your social media? I would love to chat with you about featuring one of my books for your followers. Have you read my books?? Cool. It would be splendiferous if you would leave a review on Goodreads or Amazon. And tagging my books on your Goodreads page as “Want to read” is also very helpful to spreading the word about an author’s books. Thank you! Newsletter swap invitation is still in effect. If you’ll share my latest book blurb, book cover jpg, and link to my website in your newsletter, I’ll share yours in mine if the genre would interest my subscribers. Email to confirm. Image (email me for the link) Blurb: Molly Hilliard’s passion is medicine, but the patriarchy in 1796 Baltimore will have nothing of it and cast her out of medical school. Determined to be more than an herbal healer, she strikes out for The Northwest Territory seeking the freedom to practice medicine in Marietta, but she first needs a guide and a guard to get her down the mighty Ohio River. The Greeneville Treaty of 1795 liberated Romney Applewood and his younger sister after ten years as captives of native tribes in The Northwest Territory. He is more interested in getting out of the wilderness and finding medical attention for his sister until the lady doctor literally falls into his arms, and the direction of his life journey changes forever. I would love to share your book information here with my subscribers if the genre fits! Contact me.
